Place an Aeropress paper filter into the filter cap. Hold the cap by its ears and carefully rinse your filter with hot water.
With the plunger inserted just below the printed 4 on the outer casing, stand your Aeropress upside down.
Add 20g of coffee to the Aeropress. The coffee should be ground slightly finer than medium coarseness.
You will need 250g water at 200-205°F in a gooseneck or fine-spouted kettle.
Pour approximately 50g of water over 15 seconds. Stir three times. Let the wetted grounds sit for 30 seconds.
At 45 seconds fill the Aeropress to the brim. This should bring you to the 1-minute mark overall. Stir again.
Take the wetted filter in the cap and carefully lock onto the Aeropress.
With the cap firmly locked on, flip the Aeropress and center it atop your serving vessel/mug. Begin to slowly and firmly press downward, stopping at the wheezing sound. This should take about 45 seconds.
Remove the Aeropress from your vessel, remove the filter cap and push the Aeropress interior a final inch to discard the grounds. Your coffee is ready! Enjoy!
A finer grind results in a higher extraction and strength. A coarser grind results in a lower extraction and strength.
Too much coffee can result in a brew that is too strong and sour. Insufficient coffee can result in a brew that is weak and bitter.
